Art and beauty have always fascinated Catherine Laniel, a Montreal base freelance make-up artist that began her career in the fashion and entertainment industries in 1998. Over the years, her talent has filled the pages of magazines such as Flare, Clin d’Oeil and Chatelaine. She has worked on numerous advertising campaigns for clients such as Marcelle, Cover Girl and Loto-Quebec

In addition to working on TV series and for the major local network TVA, Catherine also collaborates on many movies such as Arrival , X-Men: Days of Future Past and « 300 » She has also achieved widespread recognition for her injury simulation makeup, free hand faux tattooing and airbrushing skills. Her body painting projects include clients such as Cirque du Soleil, the Casino of Montreal, Remstar and Pommery Champagne.

In 2003, she launched MAKEUPZONE, a company specialising in the art direction and coordination of makeup and hair teams for various special events. She has led her artists on many productions, including Montreal Fashion Theatre in Tokyo, the Montreal Fashion and Design Festival from 2003 to 2009 and Montreal Fashion Week from 2005 to 2010.

Always curious towards her evolving profession and trends, she continues her training by attending local and international Master Classes and seminars. She is also available to work outside of the greater Montreal area and is bilingual in English and French
